Smells immediately transport us to a different time or place (think of when you smell your parent's favorite perfume.) This activity lets students explore how smells are created using chemistry. Furthermore, it allows students to relate smells to underlying chemistry. It is an easy, no stress way to begin to learn organic chemistry.
