Many students are interested in hair care, and by seeing that chemistry can actually improve hair helps students see the power of chemistry. Through inquiry based learning, students explore how different shampoos affect their hair or that of a manikin. They ask questions about how different products might act and the factors affecting them. Then they discover the chemistry underlying these differences.
